Yannick Rieu “Symbiosis” – An innovative creation inspired by the musical universe of Brahms.
In this project, Yannick Rieu draws from the spirit of Brahms while transcending the boundaries of his harmonic and formal language. The shadow of Johannes Brahms, an emblematic figure of musical Romanticism, nourishes Rieu’s themes, also fostering spontaneous exchanges, essential elements of jazz. Symbiosis embodies the desire to merge seemingly disparate styles, highlighting the connection between lyricism and musical narration. This approach offers a poetic vision from Yannick Rieu, exploring musical fusion while reinterpreting Brahms’ legacy through a contemporary lens.

For this tour, Yannick Rieu is joined by two of the most talented Canadian musicians of their generation: Jonathan Cayer on piano and Mike De Masi on double bass. Additionally, Philippe Soirat, the renowned French jazz drummer, will join them for this Asian tour, bringing his unique artistic vision and rich musical experience.
