Yannick Rieu surrounds himself with four of the most talented musicians of their generation: Kevin Warren/drums and percussion, Rémi-Jean Leblanc/double bass and electric bass, Jérôme Beaulieu/keyboards and piano, François Jalbert/guitar.
This project follows up in the creative footsteps of Yannick Rieu’s previous albums “Spectrum”, “Non-Acoustic Project”, and “Da Li”, pushing further the explorations and encounters of the most recent digital technologies made available to him, spurred on by the energy of a new generation of musicians.
“MachiNations” embodies the diverse influences that have punctuated Yannick Rieu’s musical journey. While exploring different grooves stemming from R&B, funk, rock-jazz, drum & bass, and world music, Rieu seeks to think out of the box by delving into a more diversified approach of harmonies traditionally associated with these musical styles.
Rieu proves beyond any doubt that he no longer belongs solely to the “jazz” niche. “MachiNations” here reaffirms his openness towards other genres. This new album stands out for the multiplicity of its musical influences, without being a mere patchwork. The various musical forays and inspirations are well assimilated, and delivered with much maturity. As a whole, “MachiNations” bears the signature of an artist, always in pursuit of originality and balance.
The album “MachiNations” is distributed in 18 countries and territories (Canada, France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, Holland, Luxembourg, Japan, United Kingdom, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macau, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, and Indonesia). The digital version is distributed worldwide.

Travel in cosmopolitanism: Yannick Rieu MachiNations
It is a known fact that we can travel in space.
But it is also possible to travel within others, transporting ourselves into the mind and imagination of another being, real or imagined, until we are intimately familiar with his hopes, sorrows, fears, and desires.
We can also travel in time, and explore an era maybe long gone, or even enter a realm that might have never existed.
All this happens through magic. A magic called art.
